Our Little Corner of the World...Visiting Port Douglas...

After our less than exciting stop in Cairns...our next stop was

Port Douglas.

We arrived at Port Douglas as this charming little dock area...

and from here we decided we wanted to walk to the beach.

Our first glimpse of the charming Port Douglas Beach...

Lot's of activity on the beach...

Along the walk back to the docking area, I found this unusual flower...

In the afternoon...we took a river cruise on Australia's 

version of the African Queen...

I'm serious...it really reminded me of the African Queen...

I was ready to shoot the rapids!!!

Instead...we saw the remnants of a cyclone, 

from a few years back...

...and this guy!

Just sunning himself while waiting around for a little snack...

It was a very pretty trip down the river...

...and the Captain was entertaining.

"Maybe if I get a little closer to shore, a bite will come my way..."

And then back to the ship!

Our Little Corner of the World...visiting...Cairns???

We signed up for an ATV tour of Cairns...

or so we thought!!!

We ended up on an ATV track, on a small ranch outside of Cairns.

We thought we'd be seeing the sights while riding ATV's...

Instead...I was the sight!!!

Some kid pulled ahead of me, then didn't follow the

instructions of what do when going through mud...

Yep...a wall of mud covered me....

I have to admit we had fun...

or at least I did until I was covered with mud...

So glad I didn't take my camera with me!!!

Our Little Corner of the World...Returning from Airlie Beach!

Sometimes...the trip to and from our port

was as entertaining as the port!

Beautiful, eh?

These two were sitting across from us on our tender back to the ship...

...they were rather entertaining!

A little reflection while heading back to the ship!

Aren't they sweet????

Brothers are pretty much the same around the world!!!

And the ship is in sight!!!  Thank goodness!!!

Our Little Corner of the World...Visiting Airlie Beach, Australia!!!

Our next stop was Airlie Beach...

We took the tender to the port.

...once there we walked along the bay to the main part of town...

...it was a lovely beach, a bit worse for wear after Cyclone Debbie.

Not sure how these boats survived the cyclone...I'm guessing they

were elsewhere?

We saw several boats that were beached as a result of the cyclone. 

Words of wisdom on the back of the rental car?

Quite a bit of damage done by Cyclone Debbie...

posting this certainly makes me think of the pending damage to our 

South East Coast of the US with Hurricane Irma on the warpath.

Prayers to all of you in her path...stay safe!

Lunch at a charming outdoor cafe!

I had fish n' chips...again!!!

Couldn't get enough of the Aussie's version of it!!!

Well...it's a bird and it's wild!!!)

Right next to me at the cafe was this lovely bougainvillea!

Walking back to the ship, we caught a glimpse of it in all its glory!

I couldn't resist this shot...missing our Kelly!

I'm not so sure I'd want to rent this one...

I want a recumbent kayak!!!
