"Once you have traveled, the voyage never ends...
The mind can never break off from the journey."
Pat Conroy
The Long Beach cityscape from the Queen Mary!
Fooling around trying to get a pic of the city lights through the
porthole...not an easy task!
Between the inside lights reflections on the porthole window...
to trying to get the city lights in focus instead of the porthole!
All hand held...should have been a tripod and long exposure...
and should have done a little focus trickery so that both
the porthole and cityscape was in focus...
ahhh well...
It is what it is!

ReplyDeleteI like it just the way it is!
ReplyDeleteI just checked it out and believe I might be right in thinking my father travelled on the Queen Mary when she was outfitted as a troop ship in World War II. While checking online just now, I see that her years as a troop ship would have been about right, but her sister ship the Queen Elizabeth actually started out as a troop ship. One or the other, I am happy they were both there to transport Canadian soldiers through troubled waters. Thanks for sharing this (very good, by the way) shot through history's porthole.
