Our fist stop in Florence was the Piazzale Michelangelo for a panoramic view of the city...
And a preview of the magnificent statue of David, by Michaelangelo...
From the piazzale, we went down into the historic part of the city...
A little sidewalk Bistro...
A fabulous street light...
Musicians playing for the late afternoon lunch crowd...
And isn't he delightful??? He posed, but I didn't get a chance to chat with him...so I guess he doesn't qualify for Stranger #1!!!
You must have just posted this. What a lovely place.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite cities too. Lovely collection and reminder of its beauty. ... the only thing missing is Italian leather shoes ;D
ReplyDeleteOh, I miss it. Thank you, thank you, and more, more! (I have a leather shoe story that happened in Florence...)
ReplyDeleteOh, and love the new avatar. Looks much more like you.
Thank all!!! I'm glad I'm glad you all love Florence too!!! I didn't get any italian leather shoes (I doubt they make my size!) but I did get an Italian leather travel purse that I used throughout the rest of the trip...
ReplyDeleteMy new avatar is courtesy of my delightful 9 year old granddaughter, Kasey...she took it while we were hiking in Sequoia!!!
Wunderful pics,Chief K!!
ReplyDeleteHow could anyone ever wanna leave a place like that?!
If you're not using your vacation cabin in Mammoth I could at least take care of it while your living in Europe.
Thanks Cafe!!! I'll keep you in mind!!!
