South Pasadena Rotary *heart* Corazon...part 2

Pretty much sums it up!!!

Of course, work or no, there's always room for high fashion!!!

Fashionista extraordinaire!!!!

One of the unusual aspects of this build was the involvement of the family...the kids and dad all participated in the building, painting, putting up walls...mom fixed lunch and helped with the tile setting for the kitchen shelf...

Our favorite little one was supervising...

and making sure there were plenty of lady bugs for the garden...

Isn't he the past president from 2008-2009???

A seasoned veteran...3 super builds!!!

Putting up walls isn't always a bad thing...

Experiement in red...

Note to self...find pink work gloves for next Super Build!!!

Sometimes you just have to stop for a minute and hold up a beam...

Contemplating the tailgate party in the motel's parking lot with an ice cold Tecate...

Are you sure this is where the window goes???

Ok...so this is the real designated SoPas Rotarian photographer...(sorry George...I've been horning in on your territory ever since I got the camera bug!!!)

Stay tuned for installment #3!!!

  1. This is great to watch. Looking forward to the third one.

I think if I were a member of the family receiving this monumental gift, I'd want to participate, too. As much joy as you get in giving it, it might be almost embarrassing to receive such riches without taking part. I imagine their gratitude is mixed with many emotions.

  2. You all look like you're having a wonderful time. And I, too, am totally down with the pink work gloves.

  3. One of the things that we like about Corazon is that they respect and promote the dignity of the family. In addition, each family that wants a home has to go through extensive education and participate in extensive community service....this is by no means a freebie for them. They go through domestic violence classes, job training classes, they are eligible to earn scholarships for their children, and more. If you would like to read more about the organization, or participate in a build, check out their website...
